In effort to create diversity, Connie Cannon, founder and director of SDWA has carefully chosen each member based on their exceptional artistic abilities and years of commitment to the San Diego art community. The work portrays genre including ceramics, sculptures, glass, ink, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, photography, collage and recycled art. The philosophy of the group is to increase art awareness in the San Diego and surrounding areas, expressing variety of art produced by women artists, while supporting nonprofit organizations such as San Diego Domestic Violence Council (SDDVC), promoting community of healthy and violence-free families. The group is dedicated to gaining the viewers’ respect, and appreciation for art in the community.
