Event Description Ceramic artist Ahmet Ustunel uses a pottery wheel and hand-building techniques in making his creations. Totally blind since the age of three, he never considered blindness as an obstacle with art or creating his own works. On the contrary, he believes it makes him more imaginative. Ahmet equates texture with what color means to a sighted artist. He feels each piece when it comes out of the kiln, checking the glaze for bubbles, textures, and other chemical reactions that make the piece complete.

Event Description SAN DIEGO, CA - Stealing parts from multiple animals, Chimera becomes a one of a kind, mythical and monstrous creature. “CHIMERA: A Group Art Exhibition” at Mosaic Wine Bar on Saturday May 4, exhibits works by urban artists who also divide and then merge elements from life revealing original forms in their artwork. Art has been a major part of Mark Richmond's life since he was young. He earned a degree in fine arts and minored in multicultural study, which his art reflects. His style, as he puts it, combines "ancient Japanese tattoo art, with a modern multicultural approach". Mark creates uniquely blended calligraphic lettering for his paintings influenced by graffiti art and with a combination of computer and hand-made methods. Look for more creative and engaging pieces by Brian Dombrowsky, Mark Richmond and fellow artists Rod Mojica, Aaron Moore, Paul Naylor, Kristen Argerake and more, at “CHIMERA: A Group Art Exhibition.”
