Dear SDVAN Visitors, Art Resources and Artists

,

Please bring: One dish or drinks for 8 to share , Jewelry and Accessories for exchange and/or Art Supplies. The SDVAN Annual 2013 Holiday Potluck is a chance to clean out your costume jewelry drawer and maybe get a few pieces in exchange for those of yours that are looking for a new home. It is very casual, first come first choose, but as people arrive at different times, there are new selections over the course of the party. Accessories include jewelry, shoes, belts, hats purses, scarves..anything you want to have a new home. No money is exchanged. P.S. This is the first year we are collecting art supplies to donate to the new Studio O educational classroom at the Oceanside Museum of Art. And, as always, it is a way to network with friends and colleagues while indulging in super food.

  • Remember: We ask now for your end of year donations which are fully tax deductible and look forward to seeing all of your names on our 2013 Supporters list which is now posted. Please remember that SDVAN is a 100% volunteer organization with no bricks and mortar overheads and so all your donations go to our programming needs. We also remind you that money given to SDVAN is money given to help the visual arts in the entire region of San Diego prosper and be recognized as a vibrant and creative resource. Please consider becoming more involved with SDVAN by giving of your time, expertise, and with your donations. Those of you who can give $25 of more will be listed on the permanent sponsor page. We would love to see your name on BOTH the 2013 and the permanent list! Feel free to contact us with suggestions or questions.

coordinator, SDVAN, 760.943.0148

On a personal note: Although this is our December message, most of you will be reading it at the end of November and if you are like us, you will be celebrating family and food of the Thanksgiving holiday. We span all weather zones with stops in Palm Springs and Minnesota. This is a time to re-charge the batteries and get ready for our annual SDVAN party as we continue to make progress on plans for the DNA of Creativity at OMA and nominations go out for the SD Art Prize 2014. I am a newbie on the board of the San Diego Art Institute and hope to bring a new infusion of fun and energy into both spaces - Balboa Park's Museum of the Living Artist and North Park's SD Art Department. The hunt for a new Executive Director is on, so watch this space for progress announcements in the new year.
