Event Description Join other artists at a weekend retreat to learn ways to push your creativity and engage in the art market: • Hands on experimentation with 2D and 3D art to unlock your creativity; • Studio time for individual “push the boundaries” artwork creation; • Tools to navigate the professional artist’s journey; • Concrete steps to engage in the art market; • Establish professional contacts and friendships. Instructors will guide artists in hands-on painting and sculpting experiences, share their creative journeys, and offer a pathway to new opportunities. The retreat weekend workshop is designed for professional artists and artists transitioning to becoming professional. All materials to complete an art project, food, and beverage are included. Lunch and refreshments will be provided both days. Saturday evening will include an outdoor wine and cheese reception with laughter, talking art and sharing stories. Maximum of 20 artists. Event Description The American Watercolor Society (AWS) is a nonprofit membership organization that began in 1866 to promote the art of water media. Each year the AWS holds a juried exhibition that draws thousands of entries from artists throughout the world. The top selections are included in a traveling exhibition, touring museums and galleries nationwide. This exhibition includes portraiture, landscape, still life, abstract imagery and more. Exhibiting concurrently is Local Color. Escondido artist and curator, Linda Doll, has brought together ten of our local signature member level artists from the American Watercolor Society and National Watercolor Society. Each watercolorist, working within their own style and theme, were asked to create new works for display and sale in this exciting exhibition. Featured local artists include: Janice Ciprani-Willis, Pat Dispenziere, Linda Doll, Robin Erickson, Ken Goldman, Elaine Harvey, Carol Mansfield, Chuck McPherson, Charles Rouse, and Keiko Tanabe.

Event Description Escondido Arts Partnership announces a premier exhibition of recent paintings by well-known San Diego artist Duke Windsor. The exhibition opens to the public with a reception for the artist on Saturday, July 14, from 5:30 – 9 pm. On view will be a number of contemporary cityscapes. Each work on display was created in acrylic and applied gold leaf. There will also be a selection of watercolors available for purchase. Duke Windsor is a recognized fine artist, exhibit designer, and art teacher. He has taught art to both adults and children at various venues including the San Diego Museum of Art, Bravo School of Art, San Diego Art Department, and numerous workshops throughout San Diego County. Windsor has over 15 years of exhibit design experience including eight years as founding Director of Exhibits at the USS Midway Museum. He currently serves as CAD Engineering Manager for Full Swing Golf Simulators, headquartered in Carlsbad. His studio is located in Mt. Helix and visits are Saturday and Sunday, by appointment only.
