Cadenze showcases the contemporary art quilts of Katie Pasquini Masopust, of Fortuna, CA. Masopust’s work has evolved from structured mandalas and large dimensional pieces to painterly landscapes and abstracts. Each of the 36 quilts in Cadenze is accompanied by the artist’s original photo, allowing the viewer to see the inspiration for each quilt.
Nano Explorations by Kathy Weaver of Highland Park, IL features the artist’s interest in the emergent relationships between robotics and humans. Her work focuses on an organic view of robotic technology. Weaver airbrushes paintings on bridal satin and then embroiders and quilts the work.
Knot Aging: Rita Zerull’s Embellished Life is a celebration of this Escondido artist’s lifetime of creativity. On display are Zerull’s heavily stitched and embellished small works. She learned to sew and embroider at age seven and she’s never stopped!
