Event Description High-Key artists Victoria Fu, Audrey Hope, and Matt Rich talk with curator Elizabeth Rooklidge about color’s dynamic function in their materially and conceptually diverse practices. Audrey Hope’s installations and performances create immersive environments suggestive of the distinct natural environments of her works’ sites. Her work has been exhibited at venues such as MaRS Gallery, Los Angeles, CA, the New Wight Gallery, University of California, Los Angeles, CA, and SOMA Mexico, Mexico City, Mexico. Victoria Fu’s practice encompasses the mediums of digital video, photographs, and multimedia installations. She has had solo exhibitions at institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tucson, AZ and the Katonah Museum of Art, Katonah, NY, as well as group exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY, among many others. Painter Matt Rich explores the power of abstraction, translating his medium across forms, from two to three dimensions and back again.

During the tour you will learn more about each artist and the type of work they make beyond the Murals of La Jolla Project. Each mural has its own story and by the end of the tour you will know more about the inspiration and concept behind each image. This is a free event, but reservations are suggested.
