Event Description Every two years, the San Diego Mesa College Art Gallery presents artwork produced by members of the Fine Art faculty. This mini-biennial is an ideal way for our students and larger arts community to become familiarized with the outstanding talent in our program. The artwork varies in both content and media, and holds exciting surprises. For the current exhibit, Leah Younker’s urban landscapes, a sensitive portrait by Misty Hawkins, and vibrant abstractions by Lynn Engstrom, Georgia Laris, Juan Carlos Toth and Randall Christpher will grace the walls of the gallery. Amy Paul’s art will examine the fracturing of her life as she fulfills a multiplicity of roles, while Emiko and Robert Sanchez will again team up with a proto-scientific installation. Barbara Sexton plays with arithmetical symbols while Sandra Wascher uses language in spiraling hanging sculptures. Asian inspired ceramics by Patricia Yockey, whimsical clocks by Kraig Cavanaugh, intaglio prints and collage by Jim Machacek will awe with their elegance and beauty. Kaleidoscopic photographic compositions by Christopher Ferreria and poetic clay armor by Linda Litteral, seen above, are just some of the works. The variety of approaches to art making will inspire and delight. To find out more about Mesa College’s Fine Art Department visit www.sdmesa.edu/art ------- PARKING IS FREE ON RECEPTION NIGHT.
