Lux Art Institute, the first LEED-certified art museum in San Diego County, will host its monthly Lux@Night – a free evening of art, wine, live music and merriment – on Wednesday, February 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. Visitors can enjoy a free opportunity to view the stunning large-scale abstract paintings of resident artist Iva Gueorguieva, as well as the 100 in. x 150 in. work she created during her residency.
For the upcoming Lux@Night, Lux is also proud to present operatically-trained jazz singer Susanna Kurner and pianist Danny Green in a special, live, in-studio performance.
This festive event is sponsored by Supervisor Pam Slater-Price and the County of San Diego.
Amidst Lux’s five-acre site that overlooks the San Elijo Lagoon and an expansive wildlife preserve that stretches to the Pacific Ocean, enjoy a glass of wine or Stone beer, conversation, and the free chance to view Bulgarian-born Iva Gueorguieva’s exhibit.
Additionally, SPECIMEN, the store project at Lux curated by art dealer Mark Quint and artist Adam Belt, will be open for business during the event. Guests will be able to browse through a myriad of unique items devoted to the exploration of science, art, nature and adventure and pick up one-of-a-kind gifts and curiosities.
Lux@Night is a 21 and over event, and there is a $5 suggested donation. Lux Art Institute is located at 1550 S. El Camino Real in Encinitas, Calif. Parking is available in the Sanderling-Waldorf School parking lot and in posted parking zones along El Camino Real.
