Event Description Acknowledging the location of Oceanside Museum of Art on the literal edge of the Pacific Rim, Facing West / Looking East presents artists who reach across the Pacific to East Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia for their content and commentary. The 20 featured artists in this exhibition share a common interest in borrowing, recycling and sampling from the cultural cornucopia of today’s flat world where historical and geographical divisions are becoming increasingly irrelevant. The exhibition opens with a preview reception on Saturday, August 11 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The reception is complimentary for OMA members and $10 for non-members and includes an open beer and wine bar and creative appetizers by OMA’s Culinary Arts Committee. Facing West / Looking East is guest curated by Richard Turner. This exhibition is made possible by the generous support from Rudy and Elizabeth Van Hunnick.

Event Description The Magic of Art at Art in the Village. If you have ever seen the eyes and smiles of a child when they are involved in creating a project for themselves, you come to realize that the simple things in life are the “treasurer’s” to remember. Stop by at Booth 1310 – State Street. The Stardust Arts, will once again, provide art activities that bring joy to children at the amazement of their parents as they watch their child create something that brings smiles to their faces. Magic by Dr. Wilderness Show, mad and zany hats, spinning 3-D projects with The Stardust Arts. There is something for everyone that brings excitement and joy to all ages at the art booth. Take part in one of Southern California's Premier Outdoor Arts Events! 14th Annual Art in the Village in Carlsbad, CA will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2012. It is a grand stopping point during the event, which annually has become the anticipation of children and parents alike.
