The 7th annual UH Arts Open/Taste of University Heights event is both a creative and culinary arts celebration happening Sunday, September 16th in University Heights. The Taste of UH is a self guided walking tour of delectable delights showcases mouthwatering cuisines from 17 prominent and diverse restaurants and eateries from noon-3pm. Taste tickets are $20 in advance or $25 event day. Limited tickets are available so get yours before they sell out! Free shuttle service escorts guests along the route.
The University Heights Arts Open is one-of-a-kind event that celebrates art in all its forms, and doesn't charge you a penny. The Open features works and talks by painters, sculptors, potters, dancers, poets and musicians. Visitors can visit studios, check out exhibitions, chat with the artistes and watch performances. The participating establishments and troupes are worth spending time on.
Venues during the event include: the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library/School of the Arts presenting an open house with student art exhibit and painting demonstration. Across the street (Music at Mueller) hosts live music. North Park Vaudeville presents "The Brady Bunch Gets Arrested" at 1 PM and "Unravelled" Improv Troupe at 2 PM and open rehearsals for the "North Park Playwrights Festival", An historic Street Car will be on display for an inside tour, Artist’s personal art studios are open throughout the neighborhood and Swedenborg Hall featuring art, belly dancing and flamenco performances, music, and theater in a historic setting.
