Event Description Julian Cox will give a Special Talk on Contemporary Photography. This will be a "must see" presentation for collectors of photography as well as artists working toward being shown in high-end galleries or museums. When: Sunday, September 30th 11:00 am - 12:30 pm Where: San Diego Art Institute in Balboa Park Cost: Free Julian Cox, Curator of Photography and Chief Curator, de Young Museum of San Francisco, will describe his curatorial decisions for this year's exhibition selection. A key topic he will discuss is how these images fit into contemporary photography as a whole today. The presentation will include projected images using a high resolution digital projector. We are expecting a very full house, so please arrive a few minutes before 11:00 am.

Event Description Join instructor Patricia Hyman. In a creative atmosphere, learn the fundamentals and techniques of watercolor painting. Explore wet on wet, dry brush, drop in and softened edges. Paint from a still life. Begin with light pencil sketches and continue to block out a composition using flat washes. Understand the basics of color theory by making a color wheel and blending colors. You will be guided through a variety of exercises with demonstrations. Materials list provided upon pre-registration.
