Event Description |
Grab a picnic, a blanket, and a few friends and come enjoy this film beneath the stars! Starring Tyrone Power, Linda Darnell, and Rita Hayworth, Blood and Sand tells the story of illiterate peasant Juan Gallardo's rise to fame and fortune as a matador, eventually, sowing the seeds of his downfall as he becomes blinded by the acclaim. Robert Henri, inspired by his trips to Spain between 1900 and 1926, produced a substantial body of work that included many representations of matadors. The exhibition, "Spanish Sojourns: Robert Henri and the Spirit of Spain" reveals Henri's commitment to capturing the essence of Spanish tradition and culture.
