Have you ever found a great photo reference and are compelled to paint it? Join us on Saturday October 18,2014 and learn from watercolorist, Chuck McPherson on just how to transcend the photo reference and create your own powerful masterpiece.
Prior to the workshop, a photo reference will be available for participants to download.
All levels are welcome!
Chuck McPherson has garnered hundreds of awards for his paintings, earning Signature status with both the National Watercolor Society and The San Diego Watercolor Society. He served as Third VP on the 2011 NWS Board and two years as the Member Shows Director on the SDWS Board, plus a concurrent three-year stint as Newsletter Chair on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild.

OMA's Art Auction 2014 showcases a striking selection of over 120 works of art from more than 60 of the region's most talented artists curated and organized by Sandra Chanis. Artists include John Daniel Abel, Charles Arnoldi, Robin Bright, W. Glen Crooks, Stephen P. Curry, Matt Devine, James Enos, Jeff Irwin, James Hubbell, Laddie John Dill, Jeffery Laudenslager, Wendy Maruyama, Allison Renshaw, Ernest Silva, Jean Wells, and dozens more.
All three of our upstairs galleries will make up the extensive Art Auction 2014 exhibition. The auction items can be previewed online. All bidding will be done through mobile devices via the company GiveSmart. Online bidding closes October 18.
Mini Text and Textiles: Small Hand Stitched Quilt

This class will be meditative in many ways. We'll be doing some journaling on fabric (I'll give you writing prompts and the pen) then we'll tear and cut the fabric, combine it with other small bits of fabric, paper and ephemera to create a small hand-stitched story quilt. You'll learn some hand embroidery stitches, ways to combine paper, cloth, and stitch and create an interesting composition. Students may choose to bring: small pieces of favorite fabrics
