The art of cartooning has been part of the American culture since Benjamin Franklin’s “Join or Die” was published in 1754. During the 19th century professional artist Thomas Nast established political symbols most notably the Republican elephant. Major magazines of the 20th century, such as Colliers, The New Yorker and later Playboy published cartoons and employed many freelance artists. Art style of cartoons can be either realistic or cartoony, using varied line widths and exaggerated expressions for effect. Join us Wednesday November 19th to watch celebrated artist, Norm Daniels’ personality come through his unique cartoons. Will Norm be wearing shoes?
Norm was born and raised in San Diego CA., studied Architecture in college and for several years he designed many custom homes in the San Diego area. Norm has illustrated for Surfer Magazine and several Children's Books. He is represented in gall |
