Event Description Shimmer and shine with Avant Garde Members at MCASD Downtown to support our exhibition and education programs. Be inspired by Gravity and Grace: Monumental Works by El Anatsui, an exhibition featuring the celebrated artist who transforms discarded materials into glimmering artworks of monumental beauty. Join us for the whole evening by arriving at 7 PM for Artful Dining featuring a cocktail hour menu created by Chef duo Giuseppe Ciuffa of Giuseppe Restaurants and Fine Catering and Guest Chef David Warner of the East Village favorite, Bottega Americano, and a dinner menu designed exclusively by all-star Chef Andrew Spurgin in collaboration with Culinary Concepts. Or arrive at 8:30 PM for The After Party with the turn-table talent of DJ Adam Salter and DJ Steve French, a Mixology Lounge featuring signature cocktails from Patrón, and hosted bar and bites until the clock strikes midnight! Event Description Meet the artist: Friday March 20, 2015, 5 pm – 9 pm Art, Book Signings, Refreshments You are invited to a hosted event featuring Vanessa Rusczyk’s new floral pieces, and book signing by some of the best chroniclers of our region’s history and special features Vanessa Rusczyk won a first place at the San Diego County Fair in 2013, and Friends of Balboa Park commissioned her to execute a mural for the Butterfly Garden in Balboa Park. Her work has been featured at Mission Trails Regional Park, and the Borrego Art Institute. Sunbelt Publications is well known for titles in natural history, history, and biography, referencing the San Diego region and the southwestern United States.
