Event Description OASIS is a collaborative exhibition between The Studio Door (San Diego) and Venus Studios Art Supply (Palm Desert). For the month of August, San Diego will host a showcase of Palm Desert visual artists. The North Park exhibition runs from August 1 - 23 with an opening reception on August 1 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at The Studio Door (3750 30th Street, San Diego).

Event Description Having collaborated in the past on an indoor mural commissioned by Allett Wallets, Eric Wixon, MR DVICE, and Nick McPherson reunite once again, producing all new work to be displayed alongside their respective indoor murals. Known for their colorful and whimsical imagery, the three local artists remind us that fine art does not always have to be serious and intellectualized. Wixon’s multi textured partially abstracted faces and DVICE’s seemingly mischievous “goons” beg to be recognized within chaotic line and brush work while McPherson’s illustrations extract and accent his imaginative humor in found photos.

Event Description TPG2 presents a small group exhibition featuring Mecha art. Mecha is a science fiction genre that centers on robots or machines controlled by people. These machines vary greatly in size and shape, but are distinguished from vehicles by their humanoid or biomorphic appearance. Different subgenres exist, with varying connotations of realism.
