Event Description Learn to glue, paint, stamp, cut, fold, tear, and rip to change old books into amazing personal works of art. You will learn elements of design, how to collage, use metallic foil and stamp techniques including heat stamping with powders. Materials fee provides you with: a book to work on, hand dyed papers, fabric, ribbon, magazines, clip art and other ephemera, metallic foil, stamps and paints. You bring: a collection of favorite images, family photos, and any pictures that appeal to you as well as old letters, poems, quotes, prayers and postcards you have collected. 7 CEUs

Event Description The Escondido Arts Partnership (EAP), a non-profit arts organization located in Escondido, CA, is presenting Panache 2017, our annual art auction fundraising gala, at the Escondido Municipal Gallery on March 18th, 2017. A wonderful evening of magnificent art, silent and live art auctions, delicious food and fine wine. Works of art being auctioned off are donated pieces by more than 40 local award-winning artists. In addition, highlighting the auction will be an original work of art by the late, internationally acclaimed artist Niki de Saint Phalle. Join collectors, artists, and art lovers from all over San Diego County for this once a year event. Panache will take place on Saturday, March 18th, 2017 with a silent auction from 5:30pm to 8pm and a live art auction at 6:30pm. Reservations are $55 in advance and $65 at the door. Event Description Indigo Dyeing has been utilized across the world for thousands of years. The indigo plant makes a variety of shades of blue, commonly associated with denim. In this four hour workshop you will learn Shibori, the Japanese tradition of folding and manipulating fabrics to make intricate patterns, along with the history and process of indigo dyeing. Students leave the class with several dyed garments like napkins, table cloths, or scarves and the knowledge to continue indigo dyeing from their own home.

Event Description So happy to host this wonderful show by the lovely people at St Madeleine Sophie's Center. Debbie Solan has been teaching fused glass classes there for almost 2 years. Here is the result of one of the projects. Some of these glass panels took the students more than 2 months to complete. Each one tells a unique story. They are works of perseverance as well as art.
