The Athenaeum's Annual Juried Exhibition is one of the most prestigious juried shows in San Diego. Forty-one artists have been selected for the Athenaeum’s 26th Annual Juried Exhibition, on view in the Joseph Clayes III and Rotunda galleries, August 5 through September 2, 2017. The opening reception will be held on Friday, August 4, 6:30–8:30 p.m. The event is free to attend for both Athenaeum members and the public.
First, second, and third place honors will be awarded by the jurors before the opening reception. This year’s jurors, Alessandra Moctezuma, Gallery Director, Professor of Fine Art at San Diego Mesa College, and Kara West, Library Arts and Culture Exhibition Manager for the San Diego Public Library, chose 41 artists from over 1,000 images submitted. A total of 56 works in video, sculpture, painting, photography, and mixed-media will be exhibited in the Joseph Clayes III Gallery and the Rotunda Gallery. |
