In the Navy, the “Bravo” and “Zulu” nautical signal flags, when hoisted together, mean “Well Done.” The BRAVO ZULU Celebration on Friday, October 13, chaired by Jessie Knight and Joye Blount, is an art-filled fundraising event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station and say “Well Done” to San Diego civic, business and philanthropic leaders who’ve made it happen. Funds support the NTC Foundation and its mission to create and operate the ARTS DISTRICT for the benefit of the community. As this is an indoor/outdoor lunchtime event, we encourage business casual attire.

Event Description

SHDWSOFDUST first solo exhibition featuring digital and film works, including "Love Me to Pieces." a thirty-five millimeter film conceptual project about reflection and the beautifully distorted perspectives we see in ourselves. My work as a whole is a study of light and manipulation. For this series I broke mirrors into small pieces and using the mosaic process, created a much larger, six foot by five foot mirror. The fragmentation, distortion, illumination and mirage like variations are almost infinite, and change with each different subject's height, face shape, and movements.
