Event Description Art-A-Thon will be held at ArtHatch from 12pm on Saturday, January 6th through Sunday, January 7th, 2018 at 12pm. The public is invited to come and watch artists create during the entire 24 hours live or online via Ustream. The Opening Reception will be held the following weekend after the event on Saturday, January 13th from 6-10pm. The artwork will be available for viewing and bidding through February 3, 2018 at 2pm. Distinction Gallery was created in 2004 both to fill a void in the community and to fulfill the dream of a vital arena for Urban and Contemporary Figurative Art in the North County of San Diego. ArtHatch, a 501©3 organization was founded in 2010. Together they employ 7,000 sq ft of space to focus on cutting-edge artwork by over 35 national and international established artists, 45 local artists - over 15 of whom work in studios within the gallery. Resident artists are a combination of college arts professors, emerging and mid-career artists, and fine-artists.

Event Description Internationally known artist Niki de Saint Phalle (1930-2002) created several larger than life works of art about the myths and legends of California. Through maquettes, models, sculptures, photographs, furniture, blueprints, and video we honor this vibrant 20th century artist. Exhibiting Concurrently: Inspired: A Mosaic Invitational Mosaic work by local artists Wick Alexander, Christie Beniston, Doris Bittar, Robin Brailsford, Kim Emerson, Katherine England, Cherrie La Porte, Leslie Perlis, Renée Richetts, Cheryl Tall, and Jean Wells, who often look to Niki de Saint Phalle for inspiration, will reveal the complexity and beauty of this obsessive art form. Eva Struble: Cover Crop With a combination of materials, Struble’s artwork treats distressed urban and natural landscapes, whose seemingly serene atmosphere belies the socio-political and environmental issues at their heart.

Event Description Meyer Fine Art presents its first exhibition of 2018, a group show featuring original limited-edition etchings, lithographs and other works on paper by important established and emerging artists. A few original watercolors, acrylic and oil paintings will also enhance the original paper artworks. From drypoints, etchings, lithography and serigraphy, this grouping celebrates the art of printmaking, editioned and unique pieces, with work that spans more than a century. The diverse selection of artists includes Alexander Calder, Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso, Christo, Howard Hodgkin, Joan Miró, Salvatore Dali and many more. Original paintings by such artists as Howard Koslow, Clay Walker and Barbara Weldon will also be exhibited. Some of the significant works on display will include a rare Miro etching [Maeght proof], a rare Lautrec bicycle lithograph by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, an etching with hand-painting by Howard Hodgkin and an original lithograph invitation by Alexander Calder.
