Event Description The Nature of Things features the contemporary art quilts of New Mexico artist Betty Busby and Illinois artist Jane Sassaman. Both artists have won multiple awards in national and international exhibitions. “Constant experimentation with new materials and techniques fuel my work which has many sources of inspiration,” says Betty Busby. She mines nature, biology and paleontology for a rich diversity of design. Jane Sassaman says, “most of my quilts are symbolic statements about the cycles and spiritual forces of life.” Known for her vibrant designs imbued with plant life and flowers, Jane also designs fabric for a national fabric brand.

Event Description Felted Gardens by Erma Martin Yost was described in a catalog essay by Lois Martin, “Like a glimpse of a forest out a window, or of a garden behind a gate, they play with geometric pattern against a kind of botanical profusion . . .” Martin Yost’s felt begins with unspun fibers formed by hand with images created with resist dyes, and marks added with thread and found objects.

Event Description Rust and Ruin showcases the sculptural textile art of Colorado artist Regina Benson. Benson uses various techniques of textile rusting for works that stand freely on the ground, hang off the ceiling, and float in curves off the wall. “In creating these works,” says Benson, “I have tried to inform my surface marks with a sense of ancestral history, survival, and connectedness.”

Event Description Meyer Fine Art presents its first exhibition of 2018, a group show featuring original limited-edition etchings, lithographs and other works on paper by important established and emerging artists. A few original watercolors, acrylic and oil paintings will also enhance the original paper artworks. From drypoints, etchings, lithography and serigraphy, this grouping celebrates the art of printmaking, editioned and unique pieces, with work that spans more than a century. The diverse selection of artists includes Alexander Calder, Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso, Christo, Howard Hodgkin, Joan Miró, Salvatore Dali and many more. Original paintings by such artists as Howard Koslow, Clay Walker and Barbara Weldon will also be exhibited. Some of the significant works on display will include a rare Miro etching [Maeght proof], a rare Lautrec bicycle lithograph by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, an etching with hand-painting by Howard Hodgkin and an original lithograph invitation by Alexander Calder.
