Students will paint Amedeo Modigliani’s Reclining Nude from the famous series started in 1916, now in permanent collection at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Event Description Please join us for Gabrielle Bakker's artist talk on April 26. Experience a unique opportunity, as Artist-in-Residence Gabrielle Bakker leads an engaging discussion about both her work and artistic process. -5:30pm to 7:00pm- Art Lounge Music, wheel throwing demonstration, drinks, hors d'oeuvres & light refreshments. -7:00pm to 8pm- Artist Talk Listen and engage with Gabrielle during her Studio Talk. About the Artist: Bakker’s process exists out of doing extensive studies and planning. Working from real life models she creates multiple studies of her subject, then translating these into prototypes where she plays with composition and color. Bakker’s use of oil paint have a tempera quality that connect her work to Renaissance painting and the move from tempera to oil painting.
