Event Description The Athenaeum Music & Arts Library is pleased to host walking tours of the Murals of La Jolla. Tours start at the Athenaeum the last Wednesday of every month. Join fellow art enthusiasts and learn more about the artists and their artworks created specifically for Murals of La Jolla during a guided walking tour led by project curator Lynda Forsha. During the tour you will learn more about each artist and the type of work they make beyond the Murals of La Jolla Project. Each mural has its own story and by the end of the tour you will know more about the inspiration and concept behind each image. This is a free event, but reservations are suggested. Event Description Media Arts Center San Diego, producer of the San Diego Latino Film Festival, and Las Americas Premium Outlets are proud to announce the return of the outdoor Latino film showcase Que Viva Cine Latino!. The ¡Que Viva Cine Latino! outdoor film series will showcase some of the most innovative and critically acclaimed Latino movies from the past 12 months in a unique, outdoor setting. The event will take place every Wednesday in September (Sept 5, 12, 19, 26, 2018) beginning at 6:30 p.m. PT with live entertainment and art exhibits at the Las Americas Premium Outlets. Sept. 26: Coco Despite his family’s generations-old ban on music, young Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead. After meeting a charming trickster named Héctor (Gael Garcia Bernal), the two new friends embark on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family

Event Description Begun on Simchat Torah 2015, the Parsha Poster project is a series of posters "advertising" the parshat hashavua (weekly Torah portion). The posters utilize innovative Hebrew typography—each one integrates the Hebrew name of the parsha into the illustration—and a bold, graphic aesthetic to tell ancient stories in a new way.
