You are invited to attend the 4th Annual ​ Art Rhythm & Wine Festival at The Forum Carlsbad ​ Saturday, October 20, 2018, 11am-6pm Sunday, October 21, 2018, 11am-6pm ​ See Works by More Than 50 Artists Continuous Live Bands Wine Garden and Gourmet Foods Free Community Event ​ The Forum Carlsbad and Kennedy & Associates present the 4th Annual Art Rhythm & Wine Festival to be held at The Forum Carlsbad on Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21, 11am-6pm. The juried show will feature more than 50 exceptional artists and craftspeople offering high quality original artwork from throughout the Western United States. Innovative works in differing styles of contemporary, traditional, modern, and Southwest art will be on display. Dozens of talented artists will present their unique work in acrylic, collage, etchings, mixed media, oils, pencil, watercolors, digital and traditional photography. Contemporary craftspeople will present unique pieces in a variety of media. There will be something for every taste and budget. A wine garden will offer guests a variety of quality wines for sale and artisan foods will also be available. Non-stop live music and entertainment will be performed throughout the festival. Lux Art Institute and North County Arts Network, both 501-C3 non-profits, will be charity partners for the 4th Annual Art Rhythm & Wine Festival. They will co-host a silent auction with proceeds going to support their individual missions. Guests can learn more about these organizations at their booths inside the event.

The 2018 Present Tense lecture series includes noted photographers exploring a wide range of themes presented from the perspective of the LGBT community (Robert Calafiore, Hartford, CT), concerns for racial equality in the American south (Brandon Thibodeaux, Dallas, TX), confronting mental health through visual art (Mariela Sancari, Mexico City), inspiration from a year-long residency in Japan (Martina Shenal, Tucson, AZ), and cutting edge approaches to color theory with mixed media (John B. Hogan, San Diego).

Event Description Size Matters is the signature exhibition of the annual Medium Festival, presenting a curated selection of works smaller than 10″ (image size, not frame size). The exhibition echoes our belief in small gatherings, small works, and exhibitions that highlight these values. The 2018 exhibition will be held at Sparks Gallery in San Diego’s Gaslamp district with an opening reception on Oct. 20 from 6-9pm. The exhibition juror is Brian Clamp, director of ClampArt in New York City. Three awards are given to participating photographers, including a $500 Purchase Award where the selected work of art will be donated to a prominent museum collection. Our Director’s Choice Award will include two VIP Passes to the 2019 Medium Festival, and an honorable mention will receive a significant award from our supporters.
