Event Description Opening reception with Elena, live music by Amanda Portela and Kenny Hill, ArtHatch open studios, Stone Beer, and BK Cellars wine will be on Saturday, March 9th from 6-10pm. In the artist's words: My show highlights a variety of vignettes focusing on women in control, going against the grain, and exposing their own desires and vulnerabilities. I paint loose with bright colors. I love telling stories with all my paintings. This show will challenge the stereotypes of women portrayed in art. My aim is to make people laugh and feel empowered. I will be donating a portion of the proceeds to The Malala Fund, a non-profit organization that aims to provide education to girls around the world in impoverished, prejudiced, and war-torn areas.

Event Description Quint Gallery is pleased to present new work by San Diego artist Michael James Armstrong March 9 through April 13, 2019. There will be a morning reception for the artist Saturday, March 9th from 11 am to 1 pm. The artist will be present and the public is invited. LINE & FUZZ is Armstrong's second exhibition at Quint Gallery. It will consist of ink drawings and spray painted works on paper, all geometric in nature. Asked to comment on this body of work, Armstrong says, "It does not interest me to try and influence in any way how someone should engage with my work. Much like a magician not revealing how a trick is done before the audience has seen it. It is important to me that my own personal ideas or intentions not color how one views my work. The magic is in the wonder of one's own experience."
