Event Description Lauren Mackler is a curator and writer based in Los Angeles. In 2010, she founded Public Fiction, a forum for staging exhibitions, performances, and programs by contemporary artists and writers as well as a journal with a parallel mission in print. She is currently the managing editor of Sublevel, and a contributor to Artforum and various other publications. Event Description Opening art reception at Liberty Station Artist June Rubin, spins anew with her take on sacred Ojibwe dreamcatchers. Her dreamcatchers are a patchwork from her many watercolor visions. Night air is filled with dreams both good and bad depicting the long necked bay bird at the purple sunset. Ms. Rubin’s Pinwheel Dreamcatcher rotates in the daylight with spring greens and pink tones of nature, the good dreams enter through the pink circular center, the nightmares drop away.
