Event Description

This year marks Mass Creativity’s 7th year! Mass Creativity is an artist-led community outreach program that includes a series of seven workshops at various community centers throughout San Diego. The program will culminate in an all-day outdoor celebration of art, creativity and community called Mass Creativity Day held at the park across from the Museum on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 9:30am-3pm. Bring the whole family and enjoy live music, food, hands-on art-making activities, free admission to the Museum and more!

The Art of Inventory is a how to effectively catalog art inventory for artists and collectors. "You've finished creating your new body of work...now what? You've learned to create new exciting pieces for your next exhibition. How many pieces? What are the sizes? What is the medium? You get a call about one of your pieces they saw in as show three months ago and they were wondering if it is still available. Is it? Do you know where it is now? " In the Art of Inventory this 3.5-hour lecture / workshop would cover: Creating an effective inventory control system Choosing the right inventory software Creating an inventory number and why you need it Recording the work's provenance and why this is important Tracking artwork to shows, loans, and sales. Image control: photographing your work or hiring a pro Record the provenance of the work Expenses Income tracking Estate Planning And much more.... Participants should bring their laptops.
