Event Description Just Breathe is a figurative series of self-portraits that reflect my own struggles with mental health, motherhood, and the uncertain world we are currently living in, utilizing music and journaling. Though both have always been a staple in my creative process, driven by an almost manic need to create, the songs that make up this series struck a deeper chord. The lyrics of each song, handwritten on journal paper, will hang alongside its accompanying piece and be included with its purchase. If 2020 is teaching us anything it’s forcing us to look inward and start getting comfortable with the uncomfortable. I’m motivated by my own vulnerabilities and this surreal time to connect with this San Diego, Studio Door community by encouraging the use of creative outlets and making them easily accessible. Blank journals are complimentary to patrons visiting the exhibition and with purchases. A portion of sales will be donated to South Bay Community Services.
