Event Description |
Need a laugh? There are 27 ways to make you smile in Funny Bone, an exhibition opening at Visions Art Museum: Contemporary Quilts + Textiles on July 15, 2017. From dancing robots to raining cats on a dog, the show is highly “tongue-in-check” with images ranging from silly to satire. This is a light-hearted exhibit that will simultaneously lift your spirits and make you ponder. No subject matter is taboo.
The six Funny Bone artists were inspired, in part, by San Diego’s Comic-Con opening the following week. While their images are not super heroes, they bring an otherworldliness aesthetic to the museum walls. See work by David Charity, Jamie Fingal, Wendy Huhn, Nancy Lemke, Pam RuBert, and Kathy Weaver.
Also opening on July 15th is Masquerade, a series of small quilts on the theme created by Visions Art Museum members.
