Opportunity Description
Call Deadline: January 7, 2016 - 11 PM PST Prospectus URL:https://www.callforentry.org/festivals_unique_info.php?ID=3117 THE CROW SHOW 2016: A Celebration of Black Birds is an exhibition of visual art running from February 5 – 28, 2016 produced by The Studio Door. Found in nearly every corner of the world, Crows (Corvus) are considered one of the world’s most intelligent animals. They can create and use tools, communicate to each other and are highly social creatures. In mythology, Crows have fascinated mankind. For some cultures, they heralded important news and symbolized the unity of marriage; while for others, the crows took on an ominous and dark role in war and death. The Studio Door is seeking artwork that represents the many faces of the Crow in reality and fantasy. At some point in an artist’s career, it seems that a black bird arrives on canvas. What will your’s look like? Show us what the Crow means to you.
