Resource Description
The Directing Change Program provides a project-based learning approach in order to engage youth to change conversations in their schools and communities around suicide prevention, mental health, social justice and other health topics through art and films.

Opportunity Description
In preparation for Mental Health Awareness Month in May, we’re looking for students to create art pieces exploring mental health, hope, resilience, change, and creatively incorporate the lime green ribbon as a symbol for mental health. Students can submit a short film, visual art, original music, a blog, even a Tik Tok. This month we’ve partnered with the Trauma Research Education Foundation (TREF) who is sponsoring prizes for San Diego County youth winners ranging from $25 to $300. Submissions are due on April 30 and you can visit https://directingchangeca.org/submission-categories/hope-and-justice// to view the full contest rules.
