Learn the Business Side of Art
Keys to the Art World is a structured career development program for artists who are ready to transition from creating work to actively selling and exhibiting it. Over the course of 24 weeks, participants will build a cohesive body of work, develop effective pricing strategies, learn to identify their ideal collector, and how to position themselves for gallery representation, exhibitions, and art fairs. At the end of the year, both spring and fall semesters host their own show at Ashton Gallery to put into practice what we have learned.
Over the course of a semester, you'll go on 2 outings as a group and experience 4 guest artists who are interviewed on topics that they thrive in so artists can get access to even more knowledge and experience.
The program focuses on real-world application, helping artists:
* Refine and present a market-ready body of work
* Understand pricing, sales, and collector relationships
* Photographing and presenting your art
* Marketing your work on social media and build an email list
* Prepare for and pursue exhibition and gallery opportunities
Designed for artists with an established style who are serious about building a sustainable art career. Led by a professional artist and Director of Education with extensive experience mentoring artists and working within the gallery system. |
