Michael James Rocha will speak on arts coverage in San Diego. The presentation will include explaining what journalists do and why certain stories are better than others.
For over twenty years, Michael James Rocha has worked with The San Diego Union Tribune. As arts and entertainment editor, he oversees pop music, classical music, visual art, theater, dance, things to do and dinner coverage. He is a founding member of the Asian American Journalist Association San Diego chapter and previously taught journalism at Point Loma Nazarene University.
This presentation is offered as part of The Studio Door's Artist Almanac 2019. The Studio Door continues its collaborative spirit by bringing together some of San Diego art authorities to speak and teach. Local art authorities from different fields will share their knowledge with artists and patrons while some of the regions best art instructors will offer specialty workshops to highlight the classes that they offer in other parts of the region. This is a fantastic opportunity to get in on a variety of creative courses, professional development talks and social gatherings that bring together like minded creatives.
