Event Description The San Diego Watercolor Society presents “On your Mark, an Art Exhibition”, a watermedia exhibition juried by Kate Ashton. Ashton, artist/teacher/mentor and active part of the art community in San Diego, is the Founder of Ashton Gallery and the bustling art center, Art on 30th. The exhibit runs from March 1-28, 2020 at our Gallery in the ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station. The Opening Reception is Friday March 6th from 5-8 pm with great original art, wine, food and the fellowship of other art enthusiasts. The Gallery is open Weds-Sat, 10 am – 4 pm and Sun 12-4 pm and is free to the public.

Event Description Encinitas Friends of the Arts is pleased to host los Angeles Balalaika Orchestra on March 1st at Encinitas Community Center in partnership with City of Encinitas. The Los Angeles Balalaika Orchestra consists of 40 talented musicians who are interested in Eastern European folk instruments and their unique sound. The Orchestra prepares new material each year and performs an annual full concert in Los Angeles and San Diego. Featured artists are brought by the Orchestra from Kiev, Moscow, or St. Petersburg, Russia, and also include world class artists who now live in the Southern California area. The concert will also feature traditional Russian folk dancers, virtuoso baritone Vladimir Chernov, and gifted soprano Anna Belaya. The orchestra's professional directors and arrangers are Iryna Orlova and Anatoliy Mamalyga. Both are graduates of the famed Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music formerly known as the Kiev State (Tchaikovsky) Conservatory. To purchase tickets please visit www.EncinitasArts.org
