Mingei is honored to celebrate the legacy of Chicano Park and its 52nd anniversary with a weekend of events featuring local artists and community members.
Meet us at Chicano Park for a tour through the lens of three Chicano Park female muralists: Berenice Badillo, Carmen Linares Kalo and Patricia Aguayo Cruz. They will bring to attention the often-sidelined narratives of women artists and explore the thought and creation process of a muralist.
Following the tour, participants will have the opportunity to engage with the Turning Wheel Bus, a mobile classroom designed as both a learning and creative space where history and culture come alive through the telling and presentation of community story and history.
All proceeds go to Turning Wheel Project and the Chicano Park Museum and Cultural Center.
