For 38 years, Mission Fed ArtWalk has celebrated both visual and performing arts in San Diego. Event Description

Mission Fed ArtWalk is back for its 38th year to San Diego’s Little Italy on April 30 and May 1. The festival will feature more than 250 local, national and international artists and purchase art directly from the creators. The largest and longest-running arts festivals in Southern California showcases every medium of art including painting, sculpture, glass work, photography, fine jewelry and more. After browsing and purchasing one-of-a kind art, attendees can enjoy interactive art activities, family-friendly art projects at KidsWalk, street food, and live entertainment including a Gator by the Bay themed stage at the Piazza della Famiglia featuring a fabulous lineup of NOLA-style music. This year’s event will also feature a vinyl art auction benefiting ArtReach San Diego. Over 100 vinyl records will be designed by participating artists including several well-known artists based here in San Diego and a group of 9th-12th grade students. Online bidding is open now through May 1.

Titled “Dreams and Daylight”, the exhibition explores the real, imaginary, and abstract impressions of our waking and sleeping lives. The Artist Alliance is an affiliate group of membership dedicated to the support of Oceanside Museum of Art. Artist Alliance provides opportunities for interaction, visibility, and growth for artists in the region. Participating artists are current OMA members with the Artist Alliance affiliate membership. The artwork is juried by Sonya Sparks of Sparks Gallery. The mission of Oceanside Museum of Art is to educate and inspire the public through a diverse range of engaging exhibitions and programs that connect people with regional, national and global artists and art forms of the 20th and 21st centuries. Event Description

Come experience two printing techniques that have survived the test of time: Suminagashi Ink Printing {floating ink} and Cyanotypes {sun prints},one of the oldest photographic processes. We will meld these two printing techniques to create a unique print on fabric and paper. This nature inspired workshop utilizes the elements of air , water and sun. We will create while allowing nature to do its work. This workshop will present many of the possibilities these processes can achieve ,used alone or in combination.

This fun and interactive workshop will allow you to marvel. Artist will create two 8" x 11" prints, one on fabric and one on paper, resulting in an understanding of the two printing processes.

Supplies are provided.
