The German Case Binding is one in which the text block is “cased in” between a front and a back cover, that is constructed with covered boards and a spine. In this workshop you will be guided through the steps of creating a cased in book. Students will learn how to work with common bookbinding tools, materials, understanding grain direction, folding signatures, making headbands, and French link sewing.
