Octavia E. Butler: Seeding Futures at the New Children’s Museum is a oom-sized installation inspired by Butler’s story to imagine worldmaking in fantastical ways to adapt to and shape change in the future.

A united county-wide presentation of the results of the Unveiling Arts and Economic Prosperity 6 report at the Museum of Photographic Arts. Seven local cities and 2 cultural districts gathered data for this national study. Randy Cohen from Americans for the Arts will make the key note speech and there will be a panel discussion

Script/Rescript at SDSU Art Galleries from Oct 13 to Dec 8. This exhibition features the artwork of ten artists who use an X-ray, a prosthesis, a cane, a crutch, a pill, a wheelchair tire, or a syringe to colorfully rescript visual language about disability. San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture call for artists county wide for a purchase award for existing art. The deadline for submission for artist is July 13, 2020. This initiative is made possible by the monetary portion of a gift from Thomas O. Rasmussen. Please check out the Request for Proposals (RFP) before you complete the Online Application Form.

Open Your Hearts to North County Arts, a promotion of North County Art Network launches at ArtWalk Carlsbad (Armada Drive, Carlsbad, 92008) is a new fine art festival on Sat/Sun, Sept 22/23 from 11 am to 6 pm. ArtWalk Carlsbad features 200 artists including 50 chalk artists near enchanted views of the Carlsbad Flower Fields and the ocean. Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance online or $12 at the gate. Art/Vintage/Treasure Encinitas Flea Market held this year at the Encinitas City Hall off of Vulcan Ave with parking in the lower lot and train station parking facilities.  Please attend with your friends Saturday July 28 from 10 to 3 pm. Hearts for Healing, a community project aiding Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas and part of its Arts for Healing Program which is
coordinated by Gerrit Greve. Rancho Santa Fe School kindly underwrote all their own expenses. Synergy Arts Foundation gave a grant
of approximately $1000 towards the costs at Santa Fe Christian School, through a generous donation from Nate & Ralyn Wolfstein.

Monumental Works by Bernar Venet a selection of 13 large scale sculpture which is a collaborative effort between Scott White Contemporary Art,
the Port of San Diego, San Diego International Airport, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the San Diego Museum of Art,
The Omni San Diego, The Marriott Hotel & Marina, Harbor Island, Liberty Station/NTC, Seaport Village, Embarcadero Marina Park South & North
and the Laurel Street “triangle”through the city of San Diego. The sculptures are sited until Oct 31 of 2009.
