In this class, you will work with a wide variety of glass tiles, gems, stained glass, and ceramic tiles to create a 16” mosaic mandala.
On day one, we’ll discuss color theory and palette, design possibilities and you’ll see samples of how to incorporate materials into a visually appealing piece. Glass cutting skills will be taught. You’ll learn how to use sticky mesh for laying out your design, and how and why to use Wedi board as a substrate.
On day two, you will complete the design of your mandala, mix thinset mortar to set your piece on the wedi board and then mix, color, and apply your grout. At the end of day two your project will be complete and ready to hang. |
