The colorful Encinitas Arts Alive banners displayed along Coast Highway this summer will be auctioned to the public at the Encinitas Community Center. Enjoy a reception at 1:30 p.m., followed by a live auction at 2:00 p.m. featuring all 85 original banner paintings. From surf culture and local landmarks to wildlife and abstracts, there’s something for every art lover. Bid on a one-of-a-kind original artwork to add color and character to your home, garden, patio, office, or other favorite space. Auctioneer Jacob Aere of KPBS Radio will lead the bidding. Perfectly perfected pastry for patrons of the arts 🎂🎨 We are asking those of you who are bakers to supply cakes inspired by the San Diego Art Prize recipients owned by the Poteets. The San Diego Art Prize Cake Walk fundraiser is in support of the 2026 San Diego Art Prize exhibition, Soft Power: On Color, Time, and Resistance held for the first time at Oceanside Museum of Art opening on September 5, 2026 and showing until February 7, 2027. This year's 2026 recipients: Danielle Dean, Ingrid Hernandez, and Tatiana Ortiz-Rubio.

OMA's Artist Alliance will present 29 original artworks in their third exhibition at Sparks Gallery in San Diego's historic Gaslamp Quarter downtown. Selected by juror Sonya Sparks, Sugar Rush brings together vibrant, playful, and visually striking work, such as bold, pop-inspired styles that embrace bright color and the fizzy energy of popular culture. This exhibition celebrates art that feels sweet, lively, fun, humorous, and impossible to ignore. Join us for Sugar Rush’s artist reception on Sunday, August 30th from 5:00-8:00 PM.
