Event Description R.B. Stevenson Gallery is pleased to announce the exhibition "Harmonic Refraction." The exhibition features new paintings, by Los Angeles artists Jimi Gleason and Gary Paller. Exhibition opens with a reception for the artists March 5, from 5 to 8 pm. Gallery will be open at 1 pm for early viewing. Jimi Gleason’s highly emotional paintings are painted with an assertive, luminous palette in a refractive medium. One of the most notable aspects of the works is the complex way in which the viewer is drawn to actively participate with each piece. Colors, textures, tones and subtleties emerge, meld and shift as light and viewer perspective change. Combining organic shapes with balanced colors, Garry Paller creates layered abstractions with an undeniable sense of movement and rhythm. Exploring notions of transparency and overlapping, he uncovers new geometric forms to produce compositions with an unassuming sense of complexity.
