Event Description In his new site-specific commissioned installation Primordial Refuge, local artist Aaron Glasson explores the concept of home in an alternate climate change reality. With climate change being a pressing issue that impacts people all over the world, Glasson’s thought-provoking show provides innovative solutions for how homes could adapt to fluctuating weather conditions. Featuring sculpture, installation, and painting, the exhibition offers visitors a unique way to engage and contribute to the continuing discourse about climate change while considering the role of art in today’s world. Glasson will build an intersectional ecological library for our community! Want to be part of this project? CONTRIBUTE TO SITE-SPECIFIC INSTALLATION! We are currently accepting books, zines, and children’s books: Subjects of ecology, environmental science, climate change, conservation, environmental science, sustainability, nature, natural history, Southern California and Northern Baja eco-systems.

Event Description Over 400 people attend each month’s First Friday Art Walk and were treated to complimentary catered cuisine, signature cocktails, hot toddies, and — of course — beautiful art and memorable artists. Romero. "The term and title for my exhibit "Tortilla Western" is derived from "Spaghetti Western", a phrase initially coined in the mid-1960s and meant to be depreciative of the Italian-made Western films of this era. Tortilla Western is my effort to engage existing paradigms as a first-generation Mexican-American and challenge cultural understandings through the process of applying recognizable/reimagined imagery to propel inquiries and discourse. This new series of works explores the psychology of Western Pop Culture/iconography and its purview of nostalgia - both individual and collective." - A.H. Romero
