| Event Description |
Paper and book artists use all kinds of folds to create with. If you’ve ever found yourself with wonky folds, this workshop is for you. We’ll start by exploring a variety of folds from Paul Jackson’s Complete Pleats to learn techniques that lead to precision. We’ll practice by making a few forms from Richard Sweeney’s Paper Sculpture. Finally, we’ll apply the techniques to make structures from Art of the Fold by Hedi Kyle and Ulla Warchol. If there’s time, I’ll even demonstrate curved folding. You’ll leave with techniques that will serve you for years plus a few delightful models. At Liberty Station - Writer's Ink, near Point Loma. |
