Event Description T-shirts are a way to speak our voice to the world. Graphic t-shirts have been a tool of the feminist revolution since they were invented. With the invention of screen printing it became easy to mass market a message. Unique fashion and one of a kind items are always coveted in our society. During this class you’ll be able to design a t-shirt using the method of stamping, embroidering and fabric painting your message onto a shirt About Craftivism Classes: From yarn bombing to femmage, the Women's Museum's Craftivism Classes invites a local artist featured in the museum's current "Crafting Feminism" exhibit to teach participants a crafting skill and how they can use it in their activism. All classes are bilingual and taught in English and Spanish Non-WMC Members: $20 WMC Members: $10

Event Description Ian Cooper is Jordan Peele’s producing partner and the Creative Director of Monkeypaw. With a primary focus on the feature slate, Ian oversees the visual and conceptual underpinnings of all Monkeypaw projects from the early development stages through execution and release. His scope of oversight extends to all Monkeypaw ancillary projects, including books, events, and exhibitions. Lauren Mackler is a curator and writer based in Los Angeles. In 2010, she founded Public Fiction, a forum for staging exhibitions, performances, and programs by contemporary artists and writers, as well as a journal with the same mission in print. The Adam D. Kamil Guest Lecture was established by the UC San Diego Department of Visual Arts to inspire undergraduate students and to provide insight into the career of an established artist working in media production.
