Event Description Join us on October 28 from 7:00-9:30 pm for our next Open Studios. With Halloween on the horizon, costumes are encouraged! One of our three musical performances will also be inspired by eerie, otherworldly elements. In honor of Dia de los Muertos, resident artist Felix Diaz will help us include some Day of the Dead practices, too. The Diaz Trio will perform a series of SONES, a traditional form of music from some parts of Mexico used in these kinds of events. During this lively, rhythmic, and danceable music, the audience is encouraged to participate, thus creating a celebratory atmosphere. We’ll also have an ofrenda (altar) to honor both loved ones we've lost from our S4A community and pioneering Mexican surrealist women artists. Tamales, Pan de Muerto (sweet bread), and Café de Olla (spiced coffee) will be for sale, along with our usual fare of snacks & drinks. And, of course, most of our artist studios will be open! Please check our website for the performance schedule & more event details!
