Event Description

Participants will learn how to properly thread a sewing needle and how to hand stitch pieces of recycled fabric scraps together to create a really cool button pouch. Everyone will stitch the fabric scraps together using a needle and thread, and then we will sew on a small button to the top half of the pouch. Learning how to properly sew on a button is a really cool skill that you can take with you anywhere!

VAF 2023 November 4, 2023. Heritage Park (220 Peyri Dr. Oceanside, CA) 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM The Valley Arts Festival is an annual celebration of the San Luis Rey Band of Mission Indians and the Luiseño history and culture, aiming to help support and celebrate the indigenous population that lived on the land we now known as Oceanside. VAF aims to educate the community on the beauty and strength of this amazing culture. Each year a portion of proceeds from the festival is donated to the San Luis Rey Mission Indian Foundation for enrichment programs. The upcoming festival will include many elements of the previous years, and much more!
