Event Description

In the one-day workshop you will learn the exciting contact printing process of cyanotype. Participants will learn the process that produces beautiful blue and white images using UV light. Learn to coat paper and fabric and how to expose prints to reveal a cyan blueprint created by you. No previous experience required. Students to bring own fabric materials to print on. Feb 6, 2025. Event Description

Join us for the reception for Reflecting on Ruth Asawa and the Garden of Remembrance. Mix and mingle with the attending artists throughout the evening. Reflecting examines the legacy of Japanese American incarceration during WWII through the lens of the Garden of Remembrance (2000 - 2002), a permanent public art memorial created by Ruth Asawa and others on San Francisco State University’s campus, honoring the resilience of this community. The artworks in the exhibition range from traditional to experimental in various media and explore ancestry, family histories, lived experiences, and painful memories resulting from Executive Order 9066, issued by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1942. The exhibition includes Mark Baugh-Sasaki, Ruka Kashiwagi, Paul Kitagaki Jr., emerita professor Wendy Maruyama, Lisa Solomon and TT Takemoto.

WORKING TITLE is Project [BLANK]’s fourth-annual exhibition of experimental art and music, featuring dozens of visual artists, filmmakers, sound and performance artists, composers, and musicians. This three-day, community-based event will include new works, world premieres, and thought-provoking performances featuring some of the most exciting creative voices in Southern California, Tijuana, and Baja California curated by Diana Benavidez and Leslie Ann Leytham. Join us on a pilgrimage of ideas, with bold new works that offer invocations and intercessions of sacred and profane inspiration.
