Event Description |
Join Mingei International Museum at The New Children\'s Museum to celebrate Culture Day in Japan (known as \"Bunka no Hi\" in Japanese) with all things art and culture. Design your own wooden Japanese Daruma doll. Darumas in Japan are symbols of success, determination and overcoming adversity. The eyes of a Daruma are usually blank. After receiving one, the owner fills in one eye when setting a goal, starting a new venture or making a wish, then paints the other when it has been fulfilled. Workshop is free with Museum admission. |
