    | Event Description | "The term and title for my exhibit "Tortilla Western" is derived from "Spaghetti Western", a phrase initially coined in the mid-1960s and meant to be depreciative of the Italian-made Western films of this era.
Tortilla Western is my effort to engage existing paradigms as a first-generation Mexican-American and challenge cultural understandings through the process of applying recognizable/reimagined imagery to propel inquiries and discourse.
This new series of works explores the psychology of Western Pop Culture/iconography and its
purview of nostalgia - both individual and collective." - A.H. Romero |
