Aotearoa or New Zealand is an incredible country to explore. Join Instructor Helen Shafer Garcia and discover the flora and fauna in watercolor and collage. Watercolor techniques will be introduced including dropped in color, paint the brush ratios, and color theory mixtures. Part of the beauty of these watercolor techniques is revealing some of the underlining abstracted imagery of shapes in selected spots. Subtractive methods will include negative painting with opaque layers. Collage will be introduced as additional textures, marks, and patterns. Students should have some knowledge of basic watercolor techniques. |
